Start with current status and identity
Begin by confirming that the exact legal entity you are considering appears on the BVI Financial Services Commission’s current Registered Agents list. Similar group names, trading names and affiliated entities can make identity checks important. Use the provider’s own website to confirm how the BVI entity fits within the wider group where applicable.
Compare the service fit
Registered Agent status does not mean every provider offers the same commercial service mix. Depending on your needs, relevant capabilities may include formation, registered office, corporate administration, compliance support, fiduciary services, legal coordination, accounting support or wider cross-border administration.
- Confirm which services are actually provided by the BVI entity or its group.
- Ask how ongoing administration and filing requests are handled.
- Understand the provider’s communication channels and expected response process.
- Request a clear fee schedule directly from the provider before engagement.
Use rankings cautiously
A directory can help organise public information, but a provider should not be treated as superior simply because it appears first on a page. BVICompany uses neutral alphabetical sorting by default and does not publish star ratings, Top 10 lists or unsubstantiated recommendations.
Where commercial placement is introduced later, it must be clearly labelled and must not be presented as regulatory approval or verification.
