What happened

The BVI Financial Services Commission published Industry Circular 24 of 2026 drawing licensees’ attention to a Trust & Corporate Service Providers strategic analysis prepared by the BVI Financial Investigation Agency. The analysis covers suspicious-activity trends and emerging risks identified in the TCSP sector between January 2023 and March 2026.

Why it matters to corporate service providers

The Commission highlighted issues including fraud-related predicate offences, misuse of company structures, beneficial-ownership concealment and cross-border risk. It encouraged relevant licensees to consider the findings within their AML/CFT/CPF frameworks, including onboarding, customer due diligence, beneficial ownership and suspicious-activity monitoring.

Practical implication

For users of BVI corporate services, the circular is another reminder that provider onboarding and ongoing compliance are substantive parts of the service relationship. Exact requirements remain provider- and fact-specific.
