What happened

The BVI Financial Services Commission set out a 2026 compliance inspection programme running from March 2026 to February 2027. The Commission said the cycle would initially target 50 licensees and would include thematic, focused, follow-up and full-scope inspections.

Focus on trust and corporate service providers

The Commission identified trust and corporate service providers among the higher-risk sectors receiving particular attention. For TCSPs, the stated focus includes the consistency and effectiveness of beneficial-ownership verification, risk classification and enhanced customer due diligence in higher-risk scenarios.
